Spotlight On Eyebrows: Why Thicker Is Better
Remember those days when pencil thin eyebrows were in style? Hard to believe those neat little arches were ever in vogue, isn’t it? Especially since the style has changed so dramatically in the last decade. Today, women all over the world are leaving their once faithful tweezers to collect dust on the shelf. The popularity of waxing has taken a steep downturn; it is rare to find a lady these days who is running back to the beautician every two weeks. Not when current trends command to let your brows grow out.
Truth be told, I do not believe in bending to every whim demanded by ongoing fashion trends. I believe we each have a mind of our own for a reason, and we can choose if we like a mode of dress or not. And if you do not like what is ‘in’ I say: good for you. Nobody is compelling you to adopt it and you shouldn’t feel compelled to either. No need to fit into a cookie cutter.
Having said that, full eyebrows are one trend that I was more than happy to adopt. Not only because it does transform your appearance more than you think, (in a positive way, of course) but also because full brows require half the amount of maintenance as the old-fashioned pencil thin brows.
The natural look is all encompassing. When it comes to the latest makeup and brow trends, it is a question of the chicken or the egg. Did the natural look begin with natural, untouched, eyebrows and filter onto the rest of the face, demanding natural makeup as well? Or did the latest, all-natural, makeup craze lead to having thick, natural looking eyebrows as well?
Thick Is The New Black
We don’t often think about it, but the reality is that eyebrows play a huge role in your appearance. They are one of the most prominent features in your face. And the best part about eyebrows is that you could change them a lot more easily than you can change your other features. They are a strong defining point in any individual. Just ask a forensic investigator. They will tell you that eyebrows can be a memorable feature that help victims to identify the criminal in suspect lineups. (No, this is not a lesson in criminology. Most of us aren’t criminals, and we do not wish to be victims either.) The point, though, is that eyebrows do make a difference to your face and to your life.
If your appearance affects your life; your eyebrows, which play a large role in your appearance, affect your life as well.
How To Achieve Thick Eyebrows
If you do not have thick eyebrows, do not despair. There are ways to accomplish the desired look.
The quickest way to make your brows look fuller is to brush them upwards or draw between the hairlines to make them look thicker. For a more natural alternative than penciling them in, you can try brow filling powder.
But all of these options can be time-consuming every morning, especially drawing them in – that can become frustrating as well if your pencil veers from your brow line. That is why there are other, more permanent brow filling treatments out there.
There are a number of options available. You can go for microblading, which is a semi-permanent tattoo between your brow lines that lasts for between 2 to 3 years. You can also get hair sewn in, if you’re willing to go a little further. If you’re shaking your head right now, don’t give up just yet. Countless women who have gone for these long-lasting brow fillers can testify that the rewards were worthwhile.
You wouldn’t believe the extent to which full, prominent, brows transform your appearance. When you feel good about your appearance, you are a happier person and a more confident person. You don’t need to do it for everybody on the street.
Do it for yourself – you won’t regret it. Thick brows give your whole face a lift!
