Olay Face Wash Review And Breakdown

Post Image

Our beauty and grooming routines have a direct affect on how we feel. When we look good, we often feel good. This is not to say that it’s a concept written in stone. It’s entirely possible to look like a million bucks on the outside and feel very down and low on the inside.

We’ve all been there. In general, though, putting on your best face – literally – can make you feel better. Our face is a big part of how we express ourselves, and the ability to keep it looking youthful and clean is always within our grasp.

The bare minimum for proper facial hygiene is to wash it with clear water, morning and evening, and to use a clean face towel to dry it. Using your pre-used, and therefore potentially dirty, towel from the shower or bath can end up doing more harm than good. The face is a very sensitive area, and it’s one which is typically uncovered even if the rest of you is. It’s always exposed to the sun and the different chemicals in the air around us.

Furthermore, you often touch your face with  your hands, your phone, makeup applicators, and other apparatuses or devices. So now you know you need to wash your face properly, but what’s the deal with face washes, I hear you ask. Let’s take a closer look.

The Importance Of Using The Right Face Wash Explained

Water may be the minimal effort required, but there are many products available to choose from. Products which can help you to keep your face balanced and hydrated, day or night. One of those is The Face Wash. Not to be confused with face cleanser, a face wash is used to remove debris, dust, and oils which are more deeply ingrained in your face. It’s usually a foaming kind of product, unlike cleansers which are traditionally non-foaming. It is possible to use both, a cleanser followed by a wash.

Depending on the genetic makeup of your face and skin – and your face’s susceptibility or tendencies regarding dirt, oil, dust, makeup residue, and pollution – you’ll need a more specific kind of face wash. Olay has several washes to choose from, and we will be reviewing some of them in this post.

Olay Face Wash Overview

A quality face wash can do wonders for your skin.

Whether you have an exceedingly resilient or highly sensitive complexion – or anything in between – Olay has got your bases covered. They’ve got an array of scrubs, cleansers, and washes galore. The Regenerist and Total Effects lines are both represented in the face wash department. As is the ProX line, which was designed by dermatologists and engineered by Olay’s team of beauty professionals.

Face washes are not all created equally. Olay has been providing the world with high-quality beauty products for 70 years now, and they’re constantly working to advance their formulas, using the latest technology and research. Their items are synonymous with beauty, care, and good hygiene. Some of their products are indeed on the pricier side, but as I always like to say: there is always a sale going on somewhere!

Olay Foaming Face Wash For Sensitive Skin Review

Sensitive-skinned people need to be exceptionally mindful of the items that they use. A wrong move, a bad lunch, a layer of makeup left on too long, or even a lengthy phone conversation where the phone is up against their cheeks – these can all be reasons for one’s face to break out. Not fun.

Olay’s foaming wash can help those with delicate skin remove dirt, oil, and makeup. This leaves the skin refreshed and, most importantly, clean. It has no fragrances, soaps, or oils of any kind, which pretty much guarantees – insomuch as one product can – an irritation-free experience. It has a glycerin base, which exfoliates and nourishes without causing harm. Also, this wash can be used daily.

That being said, it’s not for everyone, and might not work 100% all the time. You might break out or redden, despite this product claiming that it’s for sensitive skin, depending on your specific skin type. It’s a question of trial and error. Nevertheless, that being said, this is one of Olay’s best ways to prepare sensitive skin for application of other treatments or moisturizers.

Olay Acne Control Face Wash Review

Acne can be caused by a number of reasons, but essentially is has to do with two things: sebum (your body’s natural oil), and your skin’s pores. When there is an excess of oils or grime, the pores become clogged, and there’s a disruption in your skin’s ability to breathe and regenerate.

This can be due to changes in hormones, diet, disease, and other factors. This Acne Control wash has been discontinued in the meantime, and Olay recommends purchasing the Clearly Clean Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Scrub in its place.

The Acne Control was ideal for teens and others who are going through hormonal changes. Not everyone sang praise for this product, however. In some cases, it had actually aggravated the existing condition. These sorts of washes are very subjective, and experiences vary from one consumer to the next.

DIY Natural Face Wash Recipe And Guide

Ingredients like aloe vera, pure castile soap, essential oils of tea tree and lavender, oats, coconut oil, honey and shea or kokum butter – in short, natural ingredients. This is what’s most recommended for your skin, especially the skin on your face. Anything you would put in a DIY face mask is also the kind of thing you’d want in a wash. It may not foam exactly like an industrial, factory-made wash, but that doesn’t make it less effective. Here is a quick and easy DIY face wash:

In the bottle, place ¼ cup of castile soap, 10 drops of sweet almond oil, and 2 drops of vitamin E oil.  Add additional oils if desired, I personally like to add some lavender oil. Make sure not to overdo it, as essential oils are extremely potent.  Fill the bottle with water and shake.

This DIY wash is to be used after rinsing the face with warm water.  Shake the bottle well before placing 2-3 pumps worth of wash into the palm of your hand. Massage onto your face with both hands, and keep massaging for 30-40 seconds. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Feel free to experiment with other oils, veggies, and serums.

There is a combination out there which fits you to a T. It’s all about using the right products at the right time. Your body is always going through changes, so just because one recipe fails you, it doesn’t mean it will always behave in that fashion.
