Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub Product Review

Published on Jan 17, 2018 in Bath & Body

Today there are a great many products available to help treat skin issues, and improve our complexion. While having lots of options can be a wonderful thing, it can also be overwhelming for the average consumer to choose the best skin care brand to achieve their most beautiful complexion.

One brand that I stumbled upon recently that seems to be leading the charge in the going natural movement is Acure. This brand’s products are both healthy and simply heavenly! Today I’m going to be focusing on their Brightening Facial Scrub. We will explore why it’s so good and whyy you may want to switch to this brightening exfoliator.

Too many chemicals are in skin care products

In recent times, there has been a shift in the skincare and beauty world towards using organic ingredients. These products are largely free of chemically synthesized extracts. This is largely due to a similar shift that is occurring in the greater sphere of western culture as we’ve started realizing that most of the chemicals that are contained in the products we consume are very bad for our health.

Instead of relying on chemicals and drugs, we are learning to take a step back and view the problem with a more holistic approach. This means finding alternative natural remedies that achieve the same results without side-effects of pharmaceutical drugs.

My History Of Facial Skin Issues

Frustrating Skin Care Issues

I have normal to oily skin, actually leaning more to the oily side. This has caused me a great deal of issues when it comes to the look and feel of my complexion. During my teenage years, I struggled everyday with pimples and acne. I tried everything including: facial creams, lotions, and scrubs, to bleaches, medications, and skincare techniques. None of these things worked at keeping my skin under control.

The irony is that I used to stress about my skin so much, that my skin ended up getting worse instead of better. This is something which I think happens to most of us who suffer with skin issues. Once I stopped stressing, I managed to take a step back and look at the issue a bit differently. I changed my diet and started drinking loads of water everyday. I started exercising more often and sweating as many toxins out of my body as possible.

The final change was fundamental in affecting the overall quality of my skin and complexion. It was the decision I made to switch to natural skincare products and discard ones that line the shelves of department stores and supermarkets. This was a bit difficult since my bathroom shelf was lined with them. By reducing the amount of chemicals I used, my skin started to heal and regulate itself. As a result, my skin has never looked better. It is much clearer and has a glowing youthful radiance it once lacked, even in my younger years.

After going through a few natural brands and trying a few of my own DIY recipes, I finally settled with the Acure line of skin care products. They are the most effective on my skin and are so pure and healthy – you could practically eat them! That may sound a bit strange, but I feel it’s something that skincare products should strive for, as anything that goes on your skin eventually winds up in your system. This will ultimately affect the quality of your overall health and wellness.

Acure Organics Company Explained

Acure Organics Founders Jessica Assaf & Alexis Krauss

A relatively young company, Acure Organics was founded by Alexis Krauss and Jessica Assaf.  These are two young female entrepreneurs that are geared towards change. They are smart, young at heart, and clearly up for a challenge. Alexis is the front-woman of a hip ‘noise-pop’ band called Sleigh Bells, and Jessica is currently studying for her MBA at Harvard Business School. She helped make a fantastic documentary out called ‘The Human Experiment’ – which I would highly recommend watching.

As a brand, they consider themselves to be a family business, and strive to create products that are pure and natural. The organic and ethically sourced ingredients are also packaged in environmentally friendly containers that are made from recycled materials – and are biodegradable as well.

They formed the company in 2011, and since then have been making waves in the beauty industry. This is one of those brands that has managed to accumulate a cult following, and so every product they release becomes an instant hit and favorite among regular Acure users.

It’s always inspiring for me to find companies that are owned and managed by younger people (especially young women.) This is they’re more in touch with the demands of the demographic and make products that specifically cater to that market.

I would highly recommend trying out the Acure line of products. Not only because they’ve got amazingly effective products, but also because you’ll be helping young women establish themselves in an otherwise predominantly male-dominated market. This market doesn’t give much room for younger companies to establish themselves. So be part of the change and part of the solution.

Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub Ingredients Breakdown

There are many reasons that I love Acure Organics, but the fact that I can actually pronounce the ingredients is why I really love the brand. It is for this reason, I’ll always recommend them to friends or readers.

When you first glance at the ingredients list of the Brightening Facial Scrub, it may seem a bit overwhelming at first glance. One might think that an organic product would contain less ingredients, not more. However, purely organic products tend to contain more ingredients as a means of making up for the effects that chemical solvents offer.

Nourishing Sea Kelp is a Key Ingredient in the Scrub

I’ll attach a full list of the ingredients contained in the Brightening Facial Scrub below, but there are a few in specific that I would like to focus on.

Sea kelp is the key exfoliator in the recipe. It is is rich in exfoliating enzymes and helps to loosen the bonds that hold dead skin cells and oxidized sebum oil on the surface of the skin, ultimately helping to remove them. This leads to a smoother and clearer complexion and helps to prevent the spread of acne causing bacteria or germs.

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice and vegetable glycerin work to create a stronger layer of moisture on the surface of the skin. This helps to lock in moisture, and keep the skin feeling hydrated for longer. Aloe barbadensis leaf juice also promotes the growth of healthy skin cells and helps reduce inflammation, which can lead to wrinkles and skin damage.

The formula also contains a wide variety of antioxidants including: acai berry extract, blueberry, goji berry, raspberry, pomegranate, elderberry, chamomile, and blackberry. There is also a plethora of essential oils such as primrose, sage, lavandin, lemongrass and spearmint. These help to actively flush toxins out of your skin and help to replenish and rejuvenate your skin with an abundance of nutrients.

Your skin is the largest organ on your body and just as you would feed yourself, you need to feed your skin – with healthy, nourishing ingredients and not toxic chemical additives.

My Before & After Results With Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub

The Scrub Leaves the Face Bright and Smooth

The first time I bought this scrub, I was pretty skeptical about it. It looked more like something you would serve with sushi and smelled pleasant, but different.

I had tried loads of natural beauty and skin care products before and really wasn’t expecting much. Even under those biases, it out-performed all the other products I had used before.

After the first wash I noticed how soft and smooth my skin felt. It wasn’t dry and tight like skin often feels after being cleansed or exfoliated.  Rather it it felt plump and hydrated like how your skin feels after a steam bath or a facial mask. My pores felt relaxed and my skin wasn’t oily – but it also wasn’t dry or irritable in any way. After the first month of using the facial scrub 3-5 times a week, I started to notice a difference.

My complexion seemed brighter and my pimples had basically disappeared. While my acne marks were still there, they seemed to have started to fade. They weren’t as noticeable in general light which was great for my confidence. It looked and felt like I had a brand new layer of soft and smooth skin.

Cruelty Free and Vegan

Since then I’ve continued using the facial scrub roughly 3-4 times a week, especially on the days that I exercise. I even use it as a full body scrub sometimes – and my skin thanks me for it after every wash.

Is Acure Organics Cruelty Free? Is Acure Organics Vegan?

The short answer to both of these questions is yes and yes!  As a company, Acure Organics strives to source purely organic ingredients that are all certified and ethically sourced or cultivated.

They also avoid using any animal products so all their products are great for vegans. It’s rare to find a company that manages to produce high quality products that are both ethical and organic. To put it simply, this is a win-win solution for you as a consumer and the environment we share.

Where To Find Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub

This amazingly ethical and healthy brand’s products are super accessible, and can be found in your local Walmart or Target. However, I find that the best place to buy their products is directly from their website. This is because it winds up being a lot cheaper and easier to order in bulk. Not only do you save money, you don’t have to go through the hassle of driving to the store.

Conclusion

Acure Organics has great products that are effective, safe and incredibly good for you. What more could you be looking for in skin and beauty products? If you’re stuck on conventional skin care products and struggling with a bad complexion, it’s time you take a step back and reassess. Live healthier, and switch to a natural brand like Acure. I promise you’ll never look back!
